Hema’s Red Chutney for Idlis

Ingredients

  • 2 big Onion
  • 3-4 medium Tomato
  • 11 Green chilies
  • 7-8 Red chilies
  • 0.5 bunch Fresh coriander
  • Curry leaves
  • Garlic pods
  • Ginger
  • Oil

Instructions

  1. 1.Sauté the big onions, tomatoes, green chilies, red chilies, fresh coriander, curry leaves, garlic pods, and ginger in oil until softened.
  2. 2.Grind the sautéed mixture into a smooth paste.
  3. 3.In a separate pan, heat more oil, add the additional onion, and prepare a tempering (Thadukka).
  4. 4.Add the ground paste to the tempering and cook well.
